From the Ground Up
Welcome to Consulting Collective: Practical Business Advice for a Changing World
My name is Jeremiah but most people call me Miah—and I’m the founder of Consulting Collective, LLC a business consulting resource created to help entrepreneurs, small business owners, and professionals navigate a rapidly changing economy.
This blog is rooted in Southern New Hampshire and New England, but the lessons shared here apply to anyone trying to build a sustainable business, adapt to change, and create financial independence without sacrificing what matters most.

Why I’m a Trusted Voice in Business Consulting
I earned my MBA from Plymouth State College in 1997 and spent the next decade working across multiple computer and telecommunications companies. That experience gave me a strong foundation in corporate strategy, operations, technology, and leadership.

Then the dot-com bubble burst.
Like many others at the time, I saw how quickly corporate “stability” could disappear. That moment forced me to rethink my future—not just as a professional, but as a parent and community member.
Leaving Corporate America to Build Something Real

I left the corporate world with a goal many people can relate to: spend more time with my children.
In 2002, I opened my own business—a Latin & Ballroom dance studio. And yes, owning a business doesn’t magically create free time. But it does create control.
That business:
Allowed me to enroll both of my children into private school and college
Gave me the flexibility to be present in their lives when it mattered most
Taught me what it truly means to run a business From the Ground Up
I learned lessons you don’t find in textbooks—cash flow management, hiring, retention, marketing, crisis management, and long-term sustainability.
A Commitment to Community in Southern NH
Giving back has always been part of my business philosophy.
For 14 years, I supported the YMCA, serving on both the Advisory Board and Board of Trustees, along with contributing to other nonprofit and community organizations. Small businesses thrive when communities thrive—and Southern New Hampshire has always been home.
COVID, Adaptability, and the Power of Consulting
When COVID hit, businesses everywhere were forced to shut down—especially in industries like dance and fitness. Through adaptability, strategic thinking, and my consulting work, I was able to keep my studio and help other affiliated studios afloat during the shutdowns.
Charles Darwin said it best:
“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent. It is the one most adaptable to change.”
That quote defines my approach to business.
